Spring and Summer Classes

These short format classes are meant for summer fun! Come learn a new skill with your dog.

Recall Workshop

Wanna learn how to have a fantastic recall ready for the summer? 

If so, this class is for you! We condensed all of the most important skills from our recall course into one session. Learn all about recall from the ground up! 

In this 1.75-hour in person session you will learn what skills you will need, how to build the foundation of recall, focus and attention cues, recall games, how to add in real life distractions and more.. Homework PDF also included. 

1 session total - 1 hr 45 minutes (workshop format)

Maximum 5 students per session

$75 (GST included)

Note that this class is weather dependent due to being outdoors. If postponed due to weather, efforts will be made to reschedule to a date and time that works for all attendees. 

Gear: Harness (required), regular 6ft leash (& optional long leash), water bowl, variety of treats

Requirements: As with any group class, rabies and DA2PP vaccines are required. Maximum 4 dogs per session. It is recommended that your dog has completed a basic manners class prior to attending and be reasonably social with people and other dogs. Note that this class is currently not suitable for reactive dogs. Please message us if you are uncertain that the class is the right fit. 

Flexi leashes, choke, prong and e-collars are not permitted in this class - please message us for options and help transitioning to other gear for the session. ​​

Canicross/Canihike Workshop

If you like to hike or run, and have a dog who loves to pull, then this might be for you! 

This specialized workshop is geared towards those looking to start with the fun team sports of canicross (running with your dog) or canihike (hiking with your dog). Not a runner? No problem! We created this workshop to include all ability levels and preferences. 

In this 2-hour in person session you will learn about gear fitting, how to teach your dog to pull (or harness their ability to), directional cues, emergency cues, how to safely get downhill on hikes, pass other dogs and more! Homework PDF also included. 

1 session total - 2hrs long (workshop format)

Maximum 5 students per session

$80 (GST included)

Gear: Comfortable harness (required), canicross belt, bungee leash, regular 6ft leash, water bottle & water bowl, variety of treats. If you do not have gear already please let us know for availability so that you can borrow for the session! 

Requirements: As with any group class, rabies and DA2PP vaccines are required. Maximum 5 dogs per session. It is recommended that your dog has completed a basic manners class prior to attending and be reasonably social with people and other dogs. Note that this class is currently not suitable for reactive dogs however dog-selective dogs are welcome to attend as the nature of these sports avoids dog to dog meeting on leash. Please message us if you are uncertain that the class is the right fit.

SUP Workshop

NEW! For our summer fun series, we are bringing you a super fun and often asked about introduction to stand up paddleboard workshop!

This 1.75 hr workshop is for those who have experience paddleboarding, and want to start introducing their dog to the board.

In this in person session you will learn about gear & additional safety for your dog, what cues you’ll need, how to get them comfortable with the board movement, working through distractions, body language and more! No board yet? No problem! We will have equipment for you to try (including a simulated board), and a SUP to practice with your dog on. Note that the majority of the first lesson will be on dry land. Homework PDF also included. 

 

Note that as with all of our workshops, our focus is on the dog training portion (we are not human sports instructors). It is highly advised to have taken a SUP course and be comfortable with water safety prior to adding your dog in, and to ensure your dog is comfortable with swimming and around water first.

Gear: Comfortable harness (required), yoga mat, towel, 6-10ft leash, water bottle & water bowl, variety of treats. Bring you and your dog's lifejacket if you have one! 

Requirements: As with any group class, rabies and DA2PP vaccines are required. Maximum 5 dogs per session. It is recommended that your dog has completed a basic manners class prior to attending and be reasonably social with people and other dogs however if you have a puppy and are looking to socialize them with this equipment and sport you are welcome to attend. Note that this class is currently not suitable for reactive dogs for safety reasons. Please message us if you are uncertain that the class is the right fit.

Patio Workshop

Come and learn all of the skills for a calm, well mannered pup this patio season! 

If you are wanting to bring your dog to a dog-friendly patio this summer, or even barbecues, picnics and more - this condensed class format is for you!

In this 1.75-hour in person session you will learn what base skills you will need, how to train and perfect a place cue, leave it, polite walking through crowds, how to generalize these cues to different environments as well as what to bring and important body language cues to gauge your dog's comfort level in these settings. Homework PDF also included. 

1 session total - 1 hr 45 minutes (workshop format)

Maximum 5 students per session

$75 (GST included)

Private Lessons

Private lessons also available - contact us for more information and to book. These are an option if your dog may struggle with a group class setting.
