Hi! I'm Shauna, the person behind Little Brown Dog Training Co. I began my training journey back in 2011, when I adopted my first dog, a bully breed mix rescue from the US. After some challenges, I realized that I pretty much had to become a trainer in order help my dog succeed! I took almost every class, read every book, and enrolled in everything that I could to learn how to help Madisyn.
I thought that if I had this many challenges with my new dog, there must be many other people out there experiencing the same. I realized that I could use what Madisyn and I had learned along the way to help other people and their dogs.
Since Madisyn's passing, the inspiration for Little Brown Dog Training Co. has been ignited. With the company, I hope to help as many people and dogs as I can learn how to live happy and harmonious lives together. I take an interest in continually learning about dog and animal behaviour, and keep up with science-based education in everything from puppy socialization to reactivity and aggression.
I currently live with my wonderful (brown) dog Maribella and my cat Millie, and I have participated and competed in dog sports such as Agility and Mushing, and have titled dogs in Tricks, Rally, Chase Ability, Barn Hunt and CGN. I also love hiking, running and staying active in my spare time.
