Service Description
NEW! Did you know the most common concern that clients come to us for help with is leash reactivity? If your dog barks, lunges and growls at other dogs and triggers on leash you are not alone! This 6-week long course consists of 1 virtual and 5 in person sessions to give you all of the tool you will need to understand your dog's reactivity, manage it and modify it in your daily lives. Learn why dogs become reactive, and what skills you'll need in your toolbox to help your dog make other choices instead. Become your dog's best trainer - learn to read their body language and how to use the environment to your advantage. Through this course you will learn about concepts and skills that will help you tackle your dog's leash reactivity in a force free way. Classes are set up in a very specific format to allow for gradual exposure to triggers in order to build coping skills - note that this is not set up like a regular group style obedience class - you are set up for sucess! In person classes are held at Paws Next Door at 4116 Macleod Trail SE. Maximum 4 dogs per course. Proof of current vaccines including rabies is mandatory for the course. Note: This class is force free - if you are currently using a prong, choke or e-collar please contact us for options and we can help your transition. If your dog is reactive towards people or has a damaging bite history (broken skin) please contact us for options as this may not be the right course for you.
